Thursday was ANZAC Day in Australia, the day we remember our war dead. I went to the Dawn service at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne. The Premier of the state told the 25,000 strong crowd that they had died for our values, which he said included diversity, tolerance and inclusion.
Tolerance, that virtue that Liberalism use's endlessly. But what is Tolerance?
In my Heinemann Australian Dictionary from 1976 it gives three definitions, the second is the one we want:
"the quality or practice of accepting or being fair towards beliefs, customs, etc. which are different from one's own."
Sometimes the Liberal definition includes the meaning for Tolerate:
"to allow or bear the existence or practice of without opposition."
In other words, you put up with things you don't really like. When Liberals speak they want you to believe that that is all that they want from you, merely to accept something that you don't like. However in reality Liberalism has two other additions to it's definition of Tolerance.
For example if you said "I don't like homosexuals but I would never do anything to hurt them!" that is the classic definition of Tolerance, but if you said that to a Liberal they would call you Homophobic. It's not enough to put up with something you don't like, you must embrace it, you must refuse to see it's flaws. If you were truly Tolerant, then you would be unable to voice any discomfit, because you would have none.
To be Tolerant in a Liberal society means that you must not have your own views, experiences or opinions, only those that they approve of. You see, under Liberal there is no Tolerance for anything except Liberalism. Liberalism does not Tolerate dissent from Liberalism, it is very firm on this point. All outside views are beyond the pale.
To give an example from President Trump and the Unit the Right Rally in Charlottesville in August 2017:
"And you had people - and I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally - but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly."
See here that those who are not Liberals are "condemned totally", Christians who refuse to submit are also condemned totally, everyone who refuses to submit in fact. Liberalism and Liberals have no Tolerance for any view except their own.

The Logic of Destroying the Family
Liberalism hates the family because the family puts obligations upon them. Honour your Mother and father, love your Husband or Wife, love and protect your children...all are obligations. For a normal person these things might be hard to do at times but they still believe that they are important. So why doesn't Liberalism?
Because Liberalism believes in the Autonomous Individual, that every person should be free without restrictions, without consequences and without obligations. The Autonomous Individual believes in equality and being nonjudgmental, as long as no one challenges Liberalism, then they are expected to become quite zealous in protecting Liberalism.
But if the Autonomous Individual is to be free, then that means that they cannot be bonded. They cannot make any commitment to another person, they can never he held down or restricted in any way. To declare your eternal love for another person, to commit your life to theirs, these things cannot be allowed. They bond you to another person and the Autonomous Individual is free. Marriage cannot be allowed in a truly Liberal society.
No-Fault Divorce, Homosexual Marriage, Group and Polygamous marriage, Interspecies marriage and marrying objects are all designed to highlight personal choice, the weirder the better. Marriage is simply a faze your going through, like having a crush on a teacher, one day it will pass and you'll think how silly it was. But what marriage shouldn't be is life long partnership between two bonded people. Thats normal and normal people doing normal things really freaks Liberals out.
Nor can the Autonomous Individual be a parent, sure you can have sex and you can have children but those children don't belong to you....what are you a slave owner?
People aren't property!
No, in a truly Liberal society were the Autonomous Individual reigns supreme then no other person can belong to you any more than you can belong to any other person. You might be a Guardian to a child but that child cannot be your own biological child. Because to raise your own child is to be bonded to another person and that is not allowed. However being a Guardian is alright because your not really in control, the Government would be.
Thats because in a truly Liberal society only the Autonomous Individual and the Government exist. They will be your church, your employer, your parent, in short the Government will be everything that the Individual cannot be. It will be totalitarian and everything it will not or cannot control will be left up to the Autonomous Individual and that will be proclaimed as your freedom.
The Family has always been hated by Liberals, it puts obligations upon people and it makes a mockery of the Liberal idea of the autonomous Individual. If Liberalism gets it's way then the Family will die.

The Seventy-Third Month
I still only did 3 real posts this last month, but the results have been quite nice!
I really cannot work out how people find my site, the information that Blogger provides is missing so much. I had 2448 visitors from Google...what did they type in to find my site? Blogger doesn't say!
Did they come from a link, did they type in something specific, is the God of Goggle having a good month and just decided to show me some mercy?
I did get some links, Brett Stevens from Amerika.org gave me a link and put me high on his page, much thanks. I also received visitors from Another Politically Incorrect blog, A Thrifty Homemaker & Carnivorescave, thank you all for linking to me.
Last month I told you I got called up for Jury Duty, I went in, they called up 5 juries and I wasn't selected for any of them. So after a hard day of playing pool I was released and sent home. Interestingly every women I told that I had Jury Duty said "Ohhh I hope you get a juicy case!" and every man said "This is how someone I know got out of jury duty!"amazing!
In the last month I have had 5,490 visitors, more than 2000 more than last month. My best day was the 3rd April when I had 561 visitors, my worst day was the 15th March when I had 51 visitors. I was hoping that I would get all top 10 countries at oer 100 visitors each.

America, A Land Without Tragedy
In February the right of centre Australian magazine Quadrant published a great article entitled The Meaning of Elvis. An article that asks the question, why is Elvis still famous? But in trying to answer that question it put a piece into a jigsaw I had been working on for decades. When I was growing up I wondered by American movies were so happy, even sad movies often had happy endings. As I grew older I learnt about Americas "Can Do" attitude, as they said in WWII, the difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer. That self belief sent Americans to the moon.
In the 1990's I was watching an episode of Star trek: Voyager, the one with the female captain. The first three seasons are terrible, but the last four are amazing. I remember one double episode in particular Year of Hell and Year of Hell: Part II in which "Voyager comes across a Krenim timeship that is wiping whole species from existence by changing the existing timeline." It really is the year of hell, in the end the captain kamikaze's Voyager into the timeship, which puts everything back to the way it was. But as I was watching this I thought this is a tragedy, Star Trek is making a tragedy!
Okay in the end it had a happy ending, but it was so well done that the happy ending was a surprise and a little disappointing.
America invented the happy ending and it became an enduring staple of American entertainment. But the entertainment industry was itself influenced by the wider American culture. In the article mentioned above there is this sentence, "In hit movie after hit movie, Presley played the archetypal young American: good-looking, happy and charming, enjoying life and simple adventures in a world where all great issues have been resolved and tragedy banished." In a world where all great issues have been resolved and tragedy banished.
You hear this kind of thinking throughout American history and you certainly hear it today when Americans talk about their history.
How could slavery have existed in a land without tragedy?
How could 600,000 people die in a civil war in a land without tragedy?
How could the Indians have suffered so greatly in a land without tragedy?
You hear people proclaim that their ancestors arrived in America to escape tragedy, as if tragedy cannot touch them in America. As if tragedy is a foreign idea that has never flowered in the New World.
It certainly explains why Vietnam was so inexplicable to so many Americans. It also explains why so many Americans cannot escape the grip of conspiracy thinking. If America is a land without tragedy then how come tragic things keep happening?
Why was President Kennedy assassinated?
How could September 11 happen?
How do mass shootings take place?
America is supposed to have escaped from all that, it is supposed to be on a better road. To have escaped tragedy and to believe that you are the master of your own fortune and that you are not hostage to human fear or failure is a very Liberal thing to think. But America has always been the country that Liberalism built. America has always been a land of dreams, but dreams have a dual nature, both sweet and terrible. It has been a sweet dream to believe that America is a land without tragedy, but dreams are not reality.
We are all going to see a lot of tragedy, sadly.
